Is it possible to set the size of a table in Word to be recipe card size?

How do I adjust the total size the table? I have found a way to set the size of a cell

Yes, it is. Create a table consisting of 1 row and 1 column. When you insert the table you can also set the column width, which should be the width of a recipe card. Then you can format the row to the height of a recipe card.

1. In Word: select Table > Insert > Table.
2. In the dialog box, select Number of Columns=1 and Number of Rows=1. Set the Fixed Column Width to the width of the card.
3. Click OK.
4. Right-click in the table and choose Table Properties.
5. In the dialog box, click the Row tab.
6. Set the Row height to the height of the recipe card. (You can also select the width here.)
7. Click OK.
