how much is ideal to spend on wedding rings/bands?

my engagement ring is white gold. We both like diamonds and would like them on our bands. He actually wants platinum bands, i dont know how much they run for or if it would be feasable for us.

My engagement ring had a Matching Wedding band and I liked it so we got that one. It's platinum and set with diamonds so the price was higher than my fiance's band. My fiance chose a Titanium Band with a matte stripe in the center which was only $150. It really depends on the type of rings you want. Go to some local stores and check prices on what you like and see what you guys can afford to pay and then make a decision based on that.

I got my fiance a ring for Christmas that's white gold with channel-set diamonds and it was $700 so that's a decent guage for that. It depends on the size and quality of the diamonds of course.
